Are you conscious of the words you speak? As leaders, we all have said: “I promise”; however, sometimes have fallen short on those promises. Guilty? Nonetheless, do not become overwhelmed with grief or condemnation. Instead monitor your words as you talk with others. Be watchful. Don’t make a promise you cannot or will not keep. Why? Because careless words can create discouragement and mistrust in the hearts of who follow you.
As a leader be accountable and mentally conscious to keep your word as it builds trust, respect, and confidence in family, peers, and clients. Remember it is better to not to make a vow, than make one and break it.
