Like many women, Karlyn’s (car’ lynn) idea of success and significance included personal, professional, and spiritual victory. With fervour to be the best, she sought out various leadership roles. However, quickly learned, she needed guidance to soar. After finding mentorship and encouragement, Ms. Henderson was promoted to a project manager position at The Coca-Cola Company with a $20,000 raise without compromising her soul. At this point, she valued the results of leadership / personal development, career management, and mentorship.
Now, Miss Henderson, CEO of Poimena Consulting, empowers emerging, mid-level, and executive WOMEN LEADERS to achieve success through proprietary leadership programs consisting of Executive Leadership Coaching and Training, Team Development & Building Consulting, and Organizational Effectiveness Consulting.
Since 1997 Karlyn has coached, mentored, and trained thousands of professionals to master the art of leadership and learn transformational life skills. A former senior manager with The Coca-Cola Company and The Atlanta 1996 Committee for the Olympic Games, Karlyn consults with Fortune 1000 companies like SunTrust Banks, UPS, and Georgia Pacific; government entities like CDC, U.S. Census Bureau, and Federal Transit Administration — developing them into influential and inclusive organizations. Karlyn’s organizational impacts expands several companies including Hanes, Solo Cups, Southern Living, and International Paper, to name a few. As a servant leader, Karlyn has empowered and trained hundreds of facilitators in a customized designed Teach-The-Teacher 12-Week training program; a program she designed and implemented.
On one key project at The Coca-Cola Company, Ms. Henderson resolved internal conflict, built cultural change, and sparked a collaborative team environment through a leadership initiative which ignited cooperation, improved moral, and instilled commitment with 100 warehouse managers and employees.
As a contributor to CNN, Karlyn’s work has been featured and quoted in various national media including ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox News, The Boston Globe, Miami Herald, Exaimer.com, My Network TV, and The CW, to name a few. Karlyn has published articles in PMU Woman Magazine and Gospel Today online.
Miss. Henderson holds a M.A. in Organization Leadership from Regent University and a B.S. in Information Systems from Jackson State University. Additionally, Karlyn has a Leadership Coaching certification from Creative Results Management and a Mental Toughness certification. She resides in Byram, Mississippi with her family.
